Hello 2012, welcome to the third year of Thailand lacrosse… the game continues to grow, locally and internationally.

Last year, TLA President travelled to Korea to meet with the President, and the leadership of Korea Lacrosse Association (KLA). A lot was achieved at the meeting, and new relationship had formed to bring all the Asian lacrosse nations closer to each other. Korea is now committed to attend event hosted by TLA in 2012, which both side hope that this will be the start of new regional partnership. Keep a look out for Team Korea at TLA’s first regional tournament later this year.

Now, Payu will be heading to Japan next weekend to continue his “Lacrosse Diplomatic Goodwill Tour” mission, he’ll be meeting with key personnel of Japan Lacrosse Association (JLA). The last two years, JLA had support TLA by sending referees to help with several TLA events. One of the person he’ll likely to meet on this trip is Kentaro Shimizu, is one of the regular who took his personal time off to come to Thailand to help officiate three games in Bangkok since 2010. Payu said about this upcoming trip “This is a great opportunity to meet the true game growers, to be able to meet the people who started lacrosse in Asia, and the inspiration for me to start Thailand lacrosse”. Japan is the first Asian country to take part in the FIL World game, followed by Korea and Hong Kong in later championships.
