Sunday Quick Note

Happy Sunday everyone, I hope most of you in the States are keeping warm from all the snow caused by the Polar Vortex. For those who are attending the US Lacrosse Convention I’m sure that it must be a blast, and officially marked the six month count down until Denver 2014. I wish that I could attend the convention, however unfortunately with the current political turmoil in Thailand I had to stay behind to monitor the situation. Nevertheless, in the spirit of the convention in Philly, I thought I should put on some tunes in the spirit of Brotherly Love (something we need here in Bangkok as well) by “The Boss” – The Street of Philadelphia. In the recent years we have gained a few connections to Pennsylvania, with two of our captains also from there. In addition, one of our newest member of the Thai National team is currently playing at UPenn.

Going back to what I mentioned about the six month count down, there is a lot needed to be done. One of our disadvantages is that we are a continent apart from our players, the coaches, Connor, and myself. So we are constantly keeping in touch on the phone, e-mails, and Skype to keep up with the communications. So for me to have the GM and the Head Coach, who have been right on top of everything despite their other obligations, is key. I will be heading to Denver in February, to visit the DU campus, meet with our coach Dylan Sheridan, and the DU Head Coach Bill Tierney. I’m looking forward to sit down with them, and get their valuable insights for preparation of our three weeks in Denver.

In the months ahead as we move forward, we will gain momentum and have all the pieces in place. We must remember that how we fare in Denver will be the end results of all the hard work of every individual in the program: players, coaches, the staff and the officers. More importantly, the result will pave the way for the next chapter of TLA and the growth of the sport in our country. After Denver, we plan on aggressively pushing toward the local development for Thailand, and our neighboring countries.

In the coming weeks, we’ll be announcing our roster for Denver, Team Captains, and the team’s new partnerships for the next three years. So many more exciting news ahead, with only six months away… bring on Denver.
