As we are going into day two of the FIL General Assembly, a lot of issue had been discussed about the future of the sport as a whole. Over 20 counties attended the GA, from many continents. Thailand attend the meeting as Associate member this time around, therefore TLA is participating the GA as “Observer” without voting ability. However, Payu did raised a lot of questions, and issue that have direct impact to the Asia Pacific region lacrosse programs. Many issue that was brought up by delegates besides the changes within the FIL ByLaws were the motion to unified the men’s and women’s field to be more universal. A lot of the development report by Tom Hayes, the FIL Development Director were about the progress in Asia, and South America. The guys from Crooked Arrows are here as well, representing their nation in the GA as well as promoting the movie. The delegates will have a private viewing of the movie tomorrow night, unfortunately we would already be on our way back to Bangkok. The GA will be continuing some more tomorrow, and the presentation of the World Championship in Denver in 2014 by US Lacrosse. So more updates to follow….
